Erin Gerlich

Executive Director

Erin Gerlich became the sixth Executive Director of the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø in May of 2024. Gerlich served as associate director and sport administrator at the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø prior to assuming her Executive Director duties. She has served as the head of emerging sports and new projects, acted as a liaison for all sports medicine coordination and initiatives, and served as the sport administrator for wrestling and tennis. She has also led the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø Student Athletic Advisory Committee. Gerlich is credited for her instrumental role in introducing girls wrestling to the state of Iowa. Her dedication and achievements were recognized in 2023 when she was honored with the Charlotte Bailey Award from the Iowa Wrestling Coaches & Officials Association, as well as the AAU Wrestling Women’s Empowerment Award. She was also the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association President from 2022-2023, being the first female to ever hold this position for the organization. Gerlich holds a master’s degree in health promotion from Oklahoma State University and previously served as the middle school and high school activities director in the Panorama Community School District. Erin and her daughter Avery reside at Lake Panorama.

Jason Eslinger

Senior Associate Director

Jason Eslinger joined the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø in 1997 after serving stints in the sports information offices at Central Connecticut State and Drake University. The Grundy Center native serves in a similar capacity at the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø and also directs the softball and swimming & diving programs. Jason and his wife, Becky, reside in Prairie City with their two sons.

Gary Ross

Associate Director

Gary Ross joined the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø as an associate director in August 2017 to serve as the administrator for girls basketball, cross country and track and field. Currently, he oversees the sports of girls basketball and girls soccer. Previously, Ross served as the Johnston High School activities director for 22 years. Ross, a native of Fredericksburg, is a former president of the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association and was named its Athletic Director of the Year in 2014.

Jim Duea

Assistant Director

Longtime Waukee and Waukee Northwest activities director Jim Duea has been hired as an assistant director by the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø. Duea’s primary duties will be serving as the sport administrator for cross country and track & field while aiding in eligibility cases. Duea has served as the Activities Director at Waukee Northwest High School since the school opened in 2021. Before that, he served in the same capacity at Waukee High School for 22 years. In his 26 years as activities director, both schools enjoyed unprecedented success under his leadership, earning 53 state championships as the Waukee community experienced significant growth during his tenure. Prior to that, Duea coached boys’ track and field at West Des Moines Valley High School, where he guided the Tigers to a state team title in 1998. Track and Field is synonymous with the Duea family. Jim’s grandfather Ben, coached track and field at Valley Junction and Fort Dodge for nearly three decades. Jim’s father, Jim Sr., won seven indoor and outdoor state titles as the girls track and field coach at Ames and son Ben led Waukee Northwest to a pair of Class 4A state titles in 2022 and 2023, while placing second in 2024. Duea, a native of Ames, is a 1987 graduate of Northern Iowa, where he was a track and field letterwinner. He also owns two master’s degrees from Drake University. Duea will begin his duties with the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø in July.

Tonya Moe

Assistant Director

Former Linn-Mar Athletic DIrector Tonya Moe joined the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø July 1. Moe had been at Linn-Mar High School since 2006, beginning as an Associate Athletic Director in charge of girls’ sports and facilities. She was promoted to Athletic Director in 2022, where she oversaw the entire Linn-Mar athletic department. Prior to coming to Linn-Mar, Moe was a coach, teacher and activities director at Vinton-Shellsburg from 1997-to-2006. Moe served as the Female Administrator/Coach At-Large representative on the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø Board of Directors, a position she has held since 2023. She is also active as a district director with the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association (IHSADA), serving the Northeast District. She was been named the Iowa Athletic Director of the Year by IHSADA for the 2022-23 school year. Moe is a native of Decorah and a 1996 graduate of Luther College. She received a master’s degree in Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy in 2003 and a master’s in educational administration from Drake University in 2010. Moe will begin her duties at the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø on July 1.

Ben Van Wyk

Assistant Director

Ben, a native of Grinnell and a graduate of Pella Christian High, is the sport administrator for golf and volleyball. Ben coordinates the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø's championship venues, manages the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø awards program and assists with officiating. Ben served as the Dean of Students and Activities Director at Ogden from 2016-2022. He also served as a graduate assistant for the Dordt University men's basketball program and the middle school activities director at Pella Christian. Ben and his wife, Bailey, reside in Pella with their two children.

Kiersten Schneider

Business Manager

Kiersten Schneider joined the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø as Business Manager in 2023. Schneider joined the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø after serving as the Associate Athletic Director at Northwest Missouri State for seven years. Schneider earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the Central Missouri and owns a master's degree from Northwest Missouri State. The former Kiersten Orton played basketball at Central Missouri State and was a four-time MIAA Scholar-Athlete. Kiersten earned all-state honors playing basketball at Waukee. She and her husband, Zach, are the parents of a one-year old son Henry.

Elise Boulton

Internal Operations Coordinator

Elise Boulton began her duties at the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø in March of 2025. The 2024 Simpson graduate was the 2021 recipient of the E. Wayne Cooley Scholarship while attending Montezuma High School, where she was an all-state performer in basketball while helping the Bravettes reach the State Basketball Tournament four consecutive years. Boulton served as a post-graduate intern with the NCAA in 2024-25, assisting with the NCAA Division I Volleyball Tournament. Elise is engaged to Corbin Truitt.

Heidi Reed

Program & Art Coordinator

Heidi Reed has been at the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø since 1984. She manages artwork, publications and media assets for the organization. Reed is a native of Danbury.

Kylee Walker

External Operations

Kylee Walker joined the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø on July 1 after spending the last four years working as the Sports Development Manager for Think Iowa City. The Johnston native is a 2022 graduate of the University of Iowa, where she earned her B.A. degree in Sport and Recreation Management. Kylee has also interned at Johnston and Solon High Schools as well as interning at Think Iowa City before working full time. Kylee's tenure at Think Iowa City included working with the 91º£½ÇÉçÇø when the State Volleyball Tournament moved to Coralville and Girls Wrestling was sanctioned.

Taylor Anderson

General Manager

Taylor Anderson hails from Zearing and is a graduate of Colo-Nesco High School. The Wartburg graduate served stints as a teacher and coach at Williamsburg, Mason City and Ankeny High School. In 2017, he became the second director of the Iowa Hall of Pride, where he was the lead fundraiser while developing student leadership programs and producing the Hall of Pride's weekly YouTube show "Why Iowa?" Taylor and his wife, Holly, reside in Ankeny with their three children.
